History
Originally trained as a textile designer, Lindseys enquiring mind has taken her down many paths. Versed in different crafts from screen printing to weaving she eventually settled for some years designing and making handmade jewellery.
Her need to be challenged led her to learn how to work in 3 dimensions. Taking these new found skills she applied herself to creating small sculptures for then garden which eventually led her to creating life size figures in layered concrete after a course in armature and welding.
Present and Future
Her work reflects her passion for nature. With the help of 3 zoos this year she has been studying ring tailed lemurs and meerkats. She is looking forward to creating sculptures of these fascinating creatures.
From the life drawing class she attends she has a wealth of sketches which she will be using to create her human figures range starting with her 'man on a rock' which can be seen in her gallery. The next piece will be a female form.
Lindsey uses natural materials combined with plasticine to create her sculptures. When the moulds have been made casts are poured in christo cal, a speciality high quality plaster and concrete. She is also planning to make limited editions in cold cast bronze
